W.L. Putnam Mathematics Competition

If you don't know yet what it is, you can find in a couple of clicks: just search for it on the internet and pick any result. You're bound to find pretty fast more than I can tell here.

There are, however, a few pages that you may not find easily or pay attention to at the first search, and that I consider to be extremely helpful:

Over the past years UMass Boston students participated with remarkable results, both individually and as the UMB team. [Details here]. Every fall semester I coordinate a Problem Solving Seminar (Math 390) for students interested in participating in the Putnam Competition, or more general, for students interested in learning "what to do when you don't know what to do."

If all of the above made you want to participate, or just to find out more, please contact me. I'd be happy to chat about the Putnam.
